Meet ruth
Ruth is the admittedly non-creative member of the Celebrate U team. A former lawyer and Fortune 100 HR executive, she has turned her attention to providing memorable experiences for students celebrating milestone events and achievements. A mom to two sons who are attending college far away from home, she understands the importance of being present for your students. She lives in Charleston with her husband, two cats and a rotation of kittens she fosters from a local animal adoption center.
Meet elle
Elle has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout her career, she has successfully owned and operated several small businesses, combining creativity, passion, and a love for bringing people together.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Elle is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She began her professional journey in family counseling before realizing her true passion was in creative ventures that allowed her eye for color, décor, entertaining, and thoughtful details to shine.
After relocating from Charlotte to Charleston to launch Picnic Charleston, Elle quickly fell in love with the beauty and charm of the Lowcountry. From exploring Charleston’s incredible restaurant scene and relaxing on the beach to spending time with her wonderful husband and returning to her family’s farm in Charlotte, she embraces every opportunity to enjoy life’s simple celebrations.
